My philosophy towards web site design is to keep the look clean and the navigation simple and easy to use, which I feel is reflected in my work. All my code is written by hand in TextPad, this ensures that I learn what the code does, and I do not reley on a WYSISYG editor to produce the code and layouts. All my sites are tested in Internet Explorer (6 and 7), Firefox 2, Opera 9 and Safari. I also include basic SEO (keywords in text, headings and meta tags).

Thumbnail image of the Vintage Classics web site Vintage Classics designed and built for a local company that specialise in Vintage car hire and chauffeur driven Classic car hire. The site uses XHTML (Transitional), CSS, PHP, a small amount of java script (for menu functionality) and some graphic work using Photoshop. The SEO for this site rates very high in Google for serches on "vintage car hire" and "classic car hire", whch was one of the goals of the customer, which for the customer was very important as he operates in a highly competative market.

Thumbnail image of the Below The Salt web site Below The Salt An e-commerce website built and designed for a local business that sells "Folk" orientated merchandise. The site uses HTML, CSS, javascript plus integration with PayPal to enable online sales and ordering. The use of PayPal is an excellant way for a small business to do "on line" selling. I feel it inspires confidence for the buyer. Another project which required understanding of the customers requirements, plus I have also passed on my knowledge so that the customer can update the site by himself.

Thumbnail image of the Art On The Hoof web site Art On The Hoof This is my own drawing portfolio site. I`m a keen artist who loves to draw using graphite. I enjoy the challenge of producing something that has colour in graphite. I have a style that is a cross between photo realism and art, and I believe that my drawings show the character and life of the subject. Horses are a big part of my life, and I enjoy drawing them, just as much as being around them. The site uses XHTML (Transitional),CSS and PHP, and as you can imagine, gets updated, either with new drawings or layout and style on a regular basis.
